Payment
- Businesses get 30 days to pay and individuals get 14 days.
- We accept bank transfers and cheques. Sorry, no cash.
Warranty Information
CGC Design Electrical & Guisborough Property Services offers a 1-year warranty on sold items, except replaceable batteries and this is 90 days.
All warranty work and replacement of items under warranty will be done at no cost to the customer, if we are called out on a warranty job and it isn’t our workmanship or a sold item you will be charged for a call-out. If the call-out is for an item with a replaceable battery and the battery is at fault again you will be charged for a call-out. Please make sure you have used the recommended batteries for the items specified below.
If the item has a manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee after the 1st year this is between the customer and manufacturer, not CGC Design Electrical or Guisborough Property Services.
Warranty on all alarms will be void if don’t follow the below along with the instructions in the manuals, there are links below.
- Do not use cleaners or solvents.
- Do not paint any part of the alarm.
- Do not use any other test method except the process described in this manual.
Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarms (K5CXO & K5DCO)
The batteries must be replaced within 30 days of the first occurrence of the “Low Battery Warning” to provide continuous alarm detection.
Replace battery These batteries can be purchased from your local retailer. WARNING! Alarm will not attach to back-plate unless batteries are installed. Depleted or removed batteries will render this alarm inoperative. Chirping: When End of Unit Life or Low Battery chirping begins, you can temporarily silence these chirps by pressing the test button.

WARNING: DO NOT TEST WITH FLAME This can set fire to the Alarm and damage the house.
We do not recommend testing with smoke or heat as the results can be misleading unless effective apparatus is used.
Changing the battery back up NOTE: Constant exposure to high or low temperatures or high humidity may reduce the life of the battery.
- Switch off mains power to Alarm (green light on cover should go out).
- Remove unit as shown in “ALARM REMOVAL” section on page 16.
- Locate battery slot in base of Alarm as shown below.
- Unclip battery from battery snap connectors.
- Connect new battery by clipping back on to battery snap connectors.

Other batteries can cause problems. We recommend that the “replace by date” on the battery should still have at least 2 years to go. Older batteries will give beeps prematurely. - Slide unit back on to the base. A click should be heard as the Alarm engages. (The unit cannot be replaced on the base unless a battery is installed).
- Press and hold the test button – horn should sound loudly. Reinstate mains power to Alarm (green light on cover should come on).

LOW BATTERY WARNING Your alarm requires 1 x 9V (PP3) battery.
Under normal use, the battery should last approximately one year.
Use of a battery other than those recommended here may have a detrimental effect on the alarm performance:
